Objective
To have your selected drivers in multiple racing series score as many points as possible so you can tell the other people in the league about your mental superiority while taking their money. Scoring
Points are standardized and reflect race finishing position:
- 1st: 10 points
- 2nd: 9 points
- 3rd: 8 points
- 4th: 7 points
- 5th: 6 points
- 6th: 5 points
- 7th: 4 points
- 8th: 3 points
- 9th: 2 points
- 10th: 1 point
If a driver’s finishing position is officially adjusted by league officials after the event, points will be adjusted accordingly.
Double-points races or other series gimmicks are not applicable to the Fantasy Racing League.
Starts
Each league team may start one driver per series per race.
Each league team may start one additional driver per race week in any one series. (“Wildcard driver”)
Total Driver Utilization (“TDU”)
Any one driver is limited to start 50% + 1 race of any one series’ total races for each league team. Once a driver reaches the TDU limit for a single team in one series, the driver cannot earn more points during the current season for that team in that series. Drivers reaching the TDU limit for one league team remain eligible to earn points for other league teams. TDU limits reset after the completion of any one series’ full season.Consecutive Race Starts (“CRS”)
A league team may start a driver for no more than four consecutive races in one series. If a driver is started for a fifth consecutive race in one series, the driver is ineligible to score points for the start and the start will count against that driver’s Total Driver Utilization. After completing an ineligible start, a driver’s CRS limit will be reset.Penalties
Penalties incurred by drivers that result in real-world fines, suspensions, jail time or other punishment that do not change the driver’s official finishing position will not affect league scoring.Racing Series
Formula 1 (24 races)
IndyCar (17 races)
NASCAR (36 races — excludes Daytona Clash, Daytona Duels and All-Star Race)
Teams
Teams consist of a maximum of six total drivers acquired annually via draft.Active Drivers
Each team must make one driver active for each series event. Active drivers carry over automatically to the next event unless a change is made. Changes to active drivers must be announced via the group WhatsApp text group before the actual green flag of the active driver’s race. If a team fails to make one driver active for any series race, no points will be accumulated in that series race.Draft
The draft will occur before the first race of the season. The inaugural order will be set by random draw. Future draft orders will be reverse of league finish from previous season. Draft will consist of a first round keeper round, with the following rounds (2-?) completed in a snake-style draft. New league entry draft order shall be selected at random, following established members.Protected Driver
Each team has the option to protect one driver annually, tagged 24 hours before the beginning of the draft. Protecting a driver results in the loss of a first-round draft pick. No drivers will be protected in the inaugural season. Teams joining the league at the beginning of the season are unable to protect a driver.Transactions
Future draft picks can be traded, but require next season’s entry fee to be paid within one week of transaction. Trades for draft picks count as a transaction. Drivers may be released from your team at any time. A 24 hour window shall exist between a driver’s release and their assumption into another racing team’s stable. Each team shall be allowed one priority driver claim per week.Trade deadline
10 p.m. ET on the first Tuesday in AugustDead Driver
If a team’s driver dies during the season, the league will pay respect by not counting a team’s transaction made in response (R.I.P.) and by granting that team first rights to the replacement driver for the first 48 hours after the replacement announcement, if the replacement driver is not already selected by another team. This policy will not apply to injured drivers.Communication
All transactional communications, outside of the draft, must be communicated through the established league WhatsApp channel.Annual Payout
